Applications in your inbox
Every application comes with a CV as PDF. You get a notification; the documents stay protected in your account.
Search inside CVs
Filter by languages, booking systems such as Mews or Opera, and certificates such as HACCP. Every hit shows the passage it was found in.
Invite or decline
Invitations carry your suggested time as a calendar file. Declines only go out after two days — until then, every one can be taken back.
Also: in the talent pool you’ll find people who signed up for hostel jobs. When a new profile matches the location and role of your listing, we let you know.
What it costs
Nothing. Posting jobs, the inbox, CV search and the talent pool are free: no fee per listing, no commission when you hire, no subscription.
All you need is a free employer account. It gives your hostel its own inbox for applications.
Data protection, in plain words
- Application documents are seen only by the hostel the application is addressed to. The operator of the platform also has technical access, for example to fix errors.
- The email that tells you about a new application contains no applicant data. You open the documents in your inbox after signing in.
- When a candidate replies to your invitation, the reply goes straight to your hostel, not to us.
- Applications are deleted 6 months after your decision, or 6 months after they arrived if you never decided — including the CV and the text read from it.
- Contact details in the talent pool are visible only to employers who are signed in.
- The site is hosted in Germany.
Who is behind it
Hostel Talent grew out of the Hostel Round Table Berlin, a network of 55 Berlin hostels whose managers and owners meet regularly to share experience. The Round Table is led by Alexander Dolle-Koch, director of a hostel in Berlin, who is also the operator of the platform. A tool made by people from the hostel world, for the hostel world.
